WHAT IS A HOME PROTECTION PLAN?

Home buyers need to ensure all home systems are operating at maximum efficiency. I recommend American Home Shield (AHS), a protection plan service contract that covers the repair or replacement of many of the most frequently occurring breakdowns of home system components and appliances.

AMERICAN HOME SHIELD PROTECTION PLAN

  • What is a Home Protection Plan?

The AHS home protection plan is a service contract that covers the repair or replacement of many of the most frequently occurring breakdowns of home system components and appliances.

  • Homeowners Insurance and a Home Warranty — What’s the Difference?

You sensibly protect your house with homeowners insurance. While homeowners insurance covers many appliances and system components in the event of a disaster (such as a fire), having an AHS® Home Warranty will cover those items against the high costs of repair or replacement in the event a breakdown occurs.

AHS Home Warranty Packages

ShieldEssentialSM
Covers the most critical home systems that
homeowners tell us they want in a home warranty.

ShieldPlusSM
Covers the most critical home systems, plus
many major household appliances.

ShieldCompleteSM

Offers the most comprehensive coverage, including the items in Shield Essential and ShieldPlus combined, plus additional home items. AHS offers the same high level of coverage across all three packages, such as repairs and replacements for mismatched systems, undetectable pre-existing conditions, improper installations, lack of maintenance, rust and corrosion, and more.

If you plan on selling now or in the future homes with an American Home Shield Home Warranty sell an average of 11 days faster and for $2,314 more than homes without a home warranty – that’s more than 3X the average price of the plan.*

When your oven and stove break, it’s hard to have a great home-cooked meal. You may be stuck with having to eat takeout and delivery for weeks. A broken stove isn’t just a headache; it’s an added cost since you’ll be paying for takeout and delivery until it’s fixed.

But with an American Home Shield home protection plan, you can cover the repairs for less than $2 a day. These plans not only cover your oven, but also cover the repair and replacement of more than twenty other home systems and appliances. This means that your oven will work and you will get to eat real home cooked meals.

American Home Shield provides home warranties and home protection plans that cover home systems and appliances. They also offer preventative maintenance plans to prevent system failures.
